SPC Students Learned Traditional Chinese Etiquette
Shiu Pong College organized the first of a 4-workshop series introducing Traditional Chinese Culture on September 20th – Liyi (traditional Chinese etiquette). Associate Director of Institute of Chinese Culture of United International College Zhuhai Professor Andy Fung and Council Member of Hong Kong Society for the Promotion of Chinese Liyi Ms. Irene Chung were invited as the speakers. Their speeches and demonstration on Chinese Liyi had attracted nearly 70 students to attend the workshop.
The workshop series of Chinese Traditional Culture is the major focus of SPC’s activities this year. It aims to allow students to taste the beauty and virtue of Chinese culture through learning the cultural knowledge, practice and attitude so that they will be enabled to become an ambassador of Chinese culture wherever they go, encouraging cultural exchange between Chinese and foreign cultures.
In the first half of the workshop, through videos of traditional Chinese costumes and Confucius worship rites, Prof. Fung introduced the meaning of culture, the five cardinal virtues (charity, uprightness, politeness, wisdom and faithfulness) and Liyi.
In the second half of the workshop, Ms Chung exhibited two sets of traditional Chinese costumes, inviting SPC Master, Prof. Kenneth Leung and a SPC student as models of traditional fashion. She also showed students the difference in performing the joining hands rite by ladies and gentlemen when greeting each other. At the end of workshop, Ms Chung invited all students to have an onstage show of the joining hand greeting rite, which concluded the workshop.
There will be three more workshops pertaining to the Traditional Chinese Culture series for the rest of the year: “Guqin”, “Traditional Chinese Costumes”, and “Traditional Chinese Water-Ink Painting.” The workshops aim to help students learn the profoundness of Chinese culture.
走進中華文化 紹邦學生齊學禮
由紹邦書院主辦的中國傳統文化精華系列工作坊，於9月20日舉辦了第一期——禮儀工作坊。聯合國際學院中國文化研究所副所長馮瑞龍教授和香港中華禮儀振興會理事鍾愛蓮女士受邀前來。兩人的精彩演講和專業示範，吸引了將近70名學生的熱情參與，令現場氣氛十分活躍。
中國傳統文化精華系列工作坊是紹邦書院本年度重點發展、精心策劃的活動。其目的是希望學生透過學習，在知識、技能與態度三方面，親身體驗中華文化的美與善，將來無論是出國留學還是從事跨國工作，都能成為“文化大使”，宣傳中國傳統文化，促進中外文化交流。
在本次工作坊的第一階段，馮瑞龍教授結合華服節、祭孔大典等視頻片段，從多個角度為同學們介紹了何為文化、五常（仁義禮智信）和禮儀，并講解了傳統禮儀的種類、專著、特色和實踐，令同學們對傳統禮儀文化形成了深刻的印象。在第二階段，鍾愛蓮女士展示了兩套華服，請梁偉賢院長和同學們親身感受。她更走到臺下與同學們互動，近距離示範男女拱手禮的動作。最後，鍾愛蓮女士邀請全體同學進行了一場“拱手禮T臺秀”。
在接下來的一年中，紹邦書院還將舉辦三次中國傳統文化精華系列工作坊，主題分別是古琴、華服和水墨畫，以此幫助同學們感受中華文化的博大精深。
