Shiu Pong College Master’s Dinner for PRA Students

Shiu Pong College held a Master’s Dinner on March 03, 2017, introducing the residential college education approach within UM’s 4-in-1 whole person education philosophy to more than 30 guests from local high schools, including 17 local secondary students, 13 family members and 3 school principals’ representatives.
The 17 students under UM’s Principal Recommended Admission (PRA) scheme in the next academic year, are from nine middle schools in Macau including Colégio Diocesano de São José (5ª), Hou Kong Middle School, Instituto Salesiano, Kao Yip Middle School, Keang Peng Middle School, Macau Anglican College, Macau Baptist College, Pui Ching Middle School and the Worker’s Children High School.
The evening began with SPC Master Prof. Kenneth Leung’s introduction of the College’s vision and mission objectives, as well as the experiential learning programs at the College. This was followed by student representatives sharing their personal growth experience from participating in various college programs such as English Table, Dream Building Team, Debate Team, Drama Club and Short Film Production Workshop. Afterwards, the guests were given a guided tour of SPC’s student living and learning environment and facilities.
Throughout the dinner at the SPC dining hall, the PRA guests had the opportunity to taste the regular meals of SPCers, and the college staff had lots of interaction with the PRA students, including answering questions and exchanging views. Through this Master’s Dinner, our guests were able to have a better understanding of the college life at UM. They were amazed by the comfortable living environment and the variety of meaningful experiential learning opportunities offered in the residential college.

紹邦書院于2017年3月3日舉辦“院長晚宴”，向超過30位來自本地中學的客人介紹澳大住宿式書院的教育理念。他們包括17位中學生、13位學生的家人以及3所中學的代表。這17位校長推薦免試入學（PRA）的學生來自於澳門的9所中學，包括聖若瑟教區中學第五校、濠江中學、慈幼中學、教業中學、鏡平中學、聖公會中學、浸信中學、培正中學和勞工子弟學校。
晚宴由紹邦書院院長梁偉賢教授的講話拉開帷幕。他介紹了書院的教育理念和各個體驗式學習項目。接著，來自書院英語桌、築夢小隊、辯論隊、話劇社和微電影工作坊等項目的學生代表分享了他們在這些項目中的學習與成長經歷。然後，客人們參觀了書院的生活、學習環境和各類設施。
最後，眾來賓在書院食堂用餐，體驗了學生們的日常飲食。書院的老師也和同學們頻頻互動，解答客人們的疑問，交流彼此對澳門大學“四位一體”教育理念的看法。通過此次“院長晚宴”，學生、家長和中學代表們對澳門大學的書院生活有了更加全面且具體的認識，書院的生活環境和多種多樣的體驗式學習機會給他們留下了深刻的印象。
