“Go Beyond” – The 6th English Camp of Shiu Pong College

Shiu Pong College (SPC) organized its 6th English Camp (EC) on Sept. 1-3, 2017. During the two-and-a-half-day camp, 61 SPC students and more than 20 English-speaking volunteer tutors participated. These 20 English-speaking volunteers, rich with experiences in their specific professional area, spent more than two months preparing for this camp. Many freshmen chose to join this English Camp instead of stay in their room or attend other kind of activities. The theme of this English Camp is “Go Beyond”, meaning that we should release our full potential. Shiu Pong College (SPC) organized its 6th English Camp (EC) on Sept. 1-3, 2017. During the two-and-a-half-day camp, 61 SPC students and more than 20 English-speaking volunteer tutors participated. These 20 English-speaking volunteers, rich with experiences in their specific professional area, spent more than two months preparing for this camp. Many freshmen chose to join this English Camp instead of stay in their room or attend other kind of activities. The theme of this English Camp is “Go Beyond”, meaning that we should release our full potential. Through the camp time, students were divided into 8 groups, each with 7 or 8 members. In the first night, we watched a meaningful movie “The Blind Side”. On the second and third day, we focused on 14 habits of our daily life, from morning to evening, which are really useful. The activities are packed with fun games, meaningful workshops, sports activities, dance activity and some thematic discussions. Different kind of activities helped students speak more, practice more and learn more. We also had the excursion part, which was difficult to organize this year, due to the recent Typhoon and strong rain. However, the team leaders tried their best, and finally we organized the Macau excursion successfully.During the sharing time of the closing ceremony, many students said their English speaking ability really improved a lot by continuously practicing throughout the two-and-a-half-day English camp. They deeply appreciated that SPC organized this kind of activities and they said that they would like to participate in more activities like this. In a nutshell, this English Camp is really meaningful and unforgettable.

“超越”—紹邦書院舉辦第六次英語營

紹邦書院于2017年九月一日至九月三日舉辦了兩日一夜的英語營。這次英語營共有超過60名紹邦書院學生和超過20位英語志願者導師參與。他們在紹邦書院中結交了不少的朋友，并用英語交流。這20位講英語的志願者在他們從事的具體領域裡都有著豐富經驗。他們花了兩個多月準備這個英語營，并給我們帶來了豐富的活動項目和非常好的體驗。許多新生選擇來參加英語營，而不留在自己的房間或參加其他類型的活動。我們這次英語營的主題是“超越”，意味著我們應該充分發揮自己的潛力。紹邦書院于2017年九月一日至九月三日舉辦了兩日一夜的英語營。這次英語營共有超過60名紹邦書院學生和超過20位英語志願者導師參與。他們在紹邦書院中結交了不少的朋友，并用英語交流。這20位講英語的志願者在他們從事的具體領域裡都有著豐富經驗。他們花了兩個多月準備這個英語營，并給我們帶來了豐富的活動項目和非常好的體驗。許多新生選擇來參加英語營，而不留在自己的房間或參加其他類型的活動。我們這次英語營的主題是“超越”，意味著我們應該充分發揮自己的潛力。在這次英語營中，學生共分為8組，每組有7到8名學生。第一天晚上，我們看了一部有很意義的電影–“弱點”。在第二天和第三天，我們仔細思考14個生活中的習慣，包括從早到晚的日常習慣，非常的有用。豐富的活動包括遊戲，有意義的討論，體育活動和舞蹈。同學們認為不同類型的活動增加發言的機會，並且練習更多，學習更多。今年的澳門遊覽活動因為最近的颱風和強降雨令組織活動增加了難度。但是，我們的團隊組長們盡全力選擇地點和組織，終於我們成功進行了這次活動。在閉營式的分享會中，許多學生分享了兩天半的經歷。他們和志願者導師們相處非常愉快，不僅增進了友誼，並從他們身上學習到了很多。同學們表示他們的英語口語能力提升了很多，並且感謝SPC可以組織這樣的活動。他們認為這個英語營真的是很有意義和令人難忘，以後會參加更多這樣的活動。
